CLEVELAND BAY HORSES

In 2007 we made the life changing decision to buy our first horse. We thought we had an idea of what this would entail but I was wrong, Eva claims she knew all along that I could not stop at one. She was right as usual. Since then we have acquired and bred a few more.

The aim with the horses is to breed some quality Cleveland Bays and bring them on to be confident well balanced characters with a good basic level of training ready to go out into the world.

My first contact with Cleveland Bays came way back in the1970`s, my uncle Jack Taylor bred both part and pure bred with his stallion FOREST ROYAL LAIRD (Charlie) at Levenmouth Stud. They always struck me as beautiful and powerful and it became my ambition to own and breed them myself. Well it took nearly 40 years with many distractions (cricket mainly) along the way but it has happened eventually, so I blame it all on Uncle Jack.

At the moment we have nine pure and part-bred Cleveland Bays of our own and Barbara Martindale`s stallion SOUTHBROOK WARLORD on loan.
